Module 4 cohort discussion — attendance
The required monthly cohort discussion follows Unit 4.4. Your cohort has a minimum of two learners. The Course Director will publish two time-slot choices and joining arrangements in this activity before the session. Select and attend one. If access, care, work or time-zone difficulties prevent attendance, contact the Course Director before the call to agree an authorised alternative.
Come prepared with your completed Day 1–5 notes, the existing required reading, and one question drawn from the module. The purpose is serious formation in community: honest speech, generous listening, confidentiality, and accountable reflection. Cameras should be on where possible. Do not record the call, take screenshots, or share another learner’s story outside the cohort without express permission. The group discussion question is: What does the Church’s long history teach a deacon about faithfulness across change?
After the call, record a private note: one insight received from another learner, one question you need to carry forward, and one practice you will apply in the next module. Keep this note in your private portfolio; no additional upload is required.
Completion and support
Bring one historical moment that unsettled you and one that strengthened you, and explain what each asks of your own ministry. There is no upload here. After you attend or complete an expressly authorised alternative, the Course Director records 1 out of 1, with a pass mark of 1, to confirm completion. Your cohort has a minimum of two learners. The post-call note is private portfolio work. Module 5 opens only when attendance and the other required Module 4 activities are complete.
For help with access, reasonable adjustments or a deadline, contact the Course Director. Protect other people’s privacy in your examples.
