Unit 9.4 — Personal Code of Conduct
Write your personal Code of Conduct for ministry. Aim for 1,000 words; the accepted range is 900–1,100. Build on Unit 9.4, the earlier teaching it identifies and the supplied CPDV Scripture. Make commitments you can explain, practise and review, rather than a list of admirable qualities.
Use these five headings: (1) Accountability structure and review rhythm; (2) Financial, relational, digital and pastoral boundaries; (3) Confidentiality, records, referral and safety awareness; (4) Personal vulnerability points and named safeguards; (5) Confession, correction, repair and renewed accountability after failure.
Identify at least two realistic personal vulnerabilities and a proportionate safeguard for each. Specify your review rhythm and the accountable person or structure you would approach; a role description is sufficient. Explain how your commitments protect dignity and sustain ministry under pressure. Use the required CPDV Scripture accurately and explain its connection to your commitments. Do not include another person’s identifying details, private disclosures or confidential records.
Review the unit and its complete required readings.
Submit one PDF or DOCX, up to 32 MB, to this activity. Submit the case study and Code separately. Exclude the title, word-count line and brief references from the word count; quotations within your response count. Use fictional or non-identifying examples. How your work will be assessed
| Criterion | Weight | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Workable accountability commitments | 25% | An identifiable support structure and realistic review rhythm. |
| Appropriate and sustainable boundaries | 25% | Concrete commitments for financial, relational, digital and pastoral practice. |
| Confidentiality, referral and safety awareness | 20% | Accurate limits, records practice and accountable referral without invented universal procedures. |
| Vulnerability and safeguards | 20% | At least two honestly considered risks with proportionate safeguards. |
| Clear writing and faithful CPDV use | 10% | A usable Code under all five headings with thoughtful Scripture connections. |
Strong work explains and applies the teaching accurately, with well-supported decisions. Sound work meets the criterion with minor gaps. Developing work needs clearer reasoning or application. Insufficient work has substantial omissions or misunderstanding. Your tutor will provide feedback and identify any revision required. Only the supplied teaching and required Scripture are assessed.
