Unit 7.4 — Daily Office demonstration
Lead Morning or Evening Prayer in a 5–10-minute video or an assessed live demonstration. Use the complete course Office specimens in Unit 7.1 Day 4. Retain the structure. You may choose a suitable CPDV psalm or reading as the course instructions permit; do not rush the congregation to fit the time.
Consult your Liturgical Practice Notes and rehearse the leader’s cues, responses and pauses. This is an exercise in leading the Office, not a sacramental simulation.
For a video, record yourself in a quiet, suitable setting; no congregation is required. Do not include other people without their express consent. For a live demonstration, arrange assessment with your tutor through the established course contact route.
How your work will be assessed
| Criterion | Weight | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Understanding of structure | 30% | The required parts of the Office appear in a coherent order and are understood. |
| Clear leadership | 30% | Words and participation cues are audible, intelligible and helpful. |
| Pacing | 20% | Measured speech and appropriate pauses support prayer without haste. |
| Reverence and attentive service | 20% | Preparation and conduct serve shared prayer with care. Technical polish, expensive equipment and theatrical delivery earn no additional marks. |
Strong work is accurate, well explained and applied to the task; sound work meets the criterion with minor gaps; developing work needs clearer explanation or application; insufficient work has substantial omissions or misunderstanding. Your tutor will identify any revision needed. Only the supplied teaching and required Scripture are assessed.
Upload your Assignments
For the video route, upload one MP4 or WebM file, no more than 32 MB. For the assessed live route, upload one PDF or DOCX completion record stating your name, the date, Morning or Evening Prayer, and the assessor’s name. Do not claim assessment before it has occurred; the tutor confirms the record against their own notes.
Submit the Rule and reflection in their separate activities. Keep this evidence for your portfolio. Your tutor will provide feedback against the four criteria.
